Super excited to see these health powerhouses talking together. Really refreshing at a time when everyone is pointing fingers and insisting the other guy got it wrong. And here you 2 are finding ways for everyone to get their needs met. Thank you
Really great interview! Rip asked some great questions!
What about what they say about eating a Low carb diet is best at preventing Alzheimer’s?
B careful of ur protein intake if u have ckd😊
Man, I sure liked what dr. F. said about having creative good will for every person he deals with, that was very powerful.
Fat does not make you fat! You eat Corn?! You eat oatmeal and peanut butter?! But then you say Olive oil is not healthy?! 😂 Lowering calories and lowering fat intake is so 1970s !
I was so sorry to hear that Dr. mcdougall passed away today at 77 yrs old. A truly great man and he did so much good! 😢
It's the food.
What happen to him so sad 😞
I cook my own food at home. When i put LoSalt (made with mostly potassium chloride) into my food it doesn't make me hungrier. Nor does the olive oil, but sweeteners do make me hungrier. That's why i stopped buying protein bars because the sweeteners are too sweet, therefore make me hungrier. Now i feed my sweet tooth with berries, specifically organic blueberries. By the way, i went from 190 to 130 eating olive oil with my fish.
I have been on carnivore for 5 years have reversed 3 major colon issues, done gone!!!
I dont trust to jewish coctor who dying hair.
I'm going on 5 years whole foods minimal animal protein.💪 0 Pain😃
Have a good day!
Looks like he pulled out studies statistics out of his ass.
How many centenarians are there who are healthy and eating the nutritarian
Remember Vegan Source says Dr. Fuhrman is a liar. Any comments about that?
It's not a nutrient-dense meals, it's high in antinutrients and will require supplementation if people choose to eat this way consistently. It's better to choose more fruits from the Cucurbitaceae family to absorb important minerals, basing a diet on whole grains, legumes, nuts, and seeds is not a good choice if antinutrients are not mitigated by other nutrient-rich foods like animal products, furthermore, it does not sound very appealing and attractive long-term.
As an Asian, we eat a lot of rice. The blue zone diet is healthy and the Japanese eat a lot of rice too. So don't be afraid to eat whole grains.
Having trans vaccenic acid circulating in your body allows for the immune system to neutralize cancers. It's found in the fats from ruminants. Here are five human studies on trans-vaccenic acid (TVA) and cancer, along with their DOI numbers: 1. **Trans-vaccenic acid inhibits proliferation and induces apoptosis of human nasopharyngeal carcinoma cells via a mitochondrial-mediated apoptosis pathway** - **DOI:** [10.1186/s12944-019-0993-8] 2. **Trans-vaccenic acid reprograms CD8+ T cells and enhances antitumor immunity** - **DOI:** [10.1158/2159-8290.CD-RW2023-192] 3. **Trans-vaccenic acid in red meat and dairy enhances anti-tumor immunity, research reveals** - **DOI:** [10.1038/s41586-023-06749-3] 4. **Trans-11 18:1 Vaccenic Acid (TVA) Has a Direct Anti-Carcinogenic Effect on MCF-7 Human Mammary Adenocarcinoma Cells** - **DOI:** [10.3390/nu6020627] 5. **Trans vaccenic acid (trans-11 18:1), a precursor of cis-9, trans-11-conjugated linoleic acid, exerts a direct anti-carcinogenic function in T47D breast carcinoma cells** - **DOI:** [10.1007/s10068-014-0087-3]
Propaganda? Lol That’s what fear-mongering about meat is. Not saying carnivore is smart but even in his books he says you can have a couple ounces of chicken per day.
Dr. Geraldine Branch who lived to age 107 in good health would say the information in this video resembles someone with a DSM code that is off the charts.
Here's the disclaimer from one of the studies he's probably talking about... Here are the exact quotes from the study "Dietary carbohydrate intake and mortality: a prospective cohort study and meta-analysis" as published in The Lancet, regarding the limitations: 1. **Observational Nature**: - "Our study is observational, and therefore we cannot draw conclusions about cause and effect." 2. **Self-Reported Dietary Intake**: - "Dietary intake was self-reported, and therefore measurement error is inevitable." 3. **Single Assessment of Diet**: - "Dietary information was based on a single assessment at baseline, and participants might have changed their diet during the follow-up period." 4. **Changes in Dietary Assessment Methods**: - "Changes in methods for assessing dietary intake and dietary database during the study period might have affected the estimated macronutrient intake level." 5. **Generalizability**: - "Our findings might not be generalisable to other populations with different genetic backgrounds and dietary behaviours." These quotes directly address the limitations as outlined by the authors in the study.
The Eskimo's eat only meat ...they live healthier then the doc 😂
Red meat is the most nutrient dense, bioavailable food on earth.
Nut and seeds are important too, also beans , lentils , Alvacado, potatoes have protein too whole foods are great be balanced ❤ luv my fruit too 😋
❤❤❤
The animal "waste" is why the soil is so great for our food. Many home farmers rotate the crops with the animal placement every few years for this reason 😍
I have noticed that this has become my favorite subscription channel. I listened all day at work! Thank you both.
Just described Jeff Nelson at 4:24. Sorry
Dr. Fuhrman could you point me to some resources on how to balance a kids diet? I have a 17, 13, 11, & 8 year old active in sports. I want to ensure they are getting what they need. I'm so thankful for what you do! I did your 10in20 challenge in 2023 and ended up going on with the weightloss challenge and won and now have a testimony on your website ❤ I lost my dad to chronic illness and was diagnosed with the same and have since gotten all my bloodwork to show normal numbers! My kids have the same genes and I want to do the best I can for them.
Congratulations 🥳
@@lindapb6529 thank you 🤗
Hey! Check out Brenda Davis, RD - Book: Nourish - it's focus on family plant-based education 🌱🥰
60% carbs? That seems a bit high
Healthy carbs: fruit, beans, lentils, sweet potato etc. Not highly processed foods.
@k.h.6991 Nothing like "healthy carbohydrates" exists.
@@polibm6510 Whoever told you that doesn't know what they're talking about.
@@catalyst3713 I understand that I have touched your faith...
@@polibm6510 Nah, the peer-reviewed literature and personal experience speaks for itself.
This is like the complete opposite of what Nutrition by Victoria recommends, who knows how long she's going to last without eating healthy fats
@daysoftheboo Victoria is one of the worst and most dangerous on UA-cam...
Thank you for giving me the % of carb, protein and fat. I have been hesitant to add the nuts. I do eat flax and chia seeds.✌️
I like these short videos that focus on one point. Thank you!
Some facts no one talks about: 1. The blood-brain barrier allows approximately 3.8 mg of DHA to enter the brain daily, and the retina can accumulate up to 1 mg of DHA per day. These small amounts suggest that the body requires only low levels of DHA to avoid deficiency. 2. Meta-analyses have shown that increasing ALA (alpha-linolenic acid) consumption can increase EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) concentrations in red blood cells but slightly decrease DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) concentrations. 3. Reducing the intake of arachidonic acid (AA) and linoleic acid (LA) can be an effective strategy to increase the omega-3 index due to enzymatic competition and the sharing of membrane locations. 4. Some meta-analyses have found an association between EPA and DHA supplementation and an increased risk of atrial fibrillation 5. Many studied populations worldwide that live on very low-fat diets have not shown documented omega-3 deficiencies.
1 is kind of real. "the brain DHA requirement is estimated to be only 2.4-3.8 mg/day in humans." Uptake is highly regulated, and all the studies show that brain DHA is rather independent of (individual) blood concentration - unless extreme long-term ALA deficiency. 2, 3 is not really an issue when 2g+ ALA per day. Liver produces some 15mg DHA - excess, again regulated. When macroscopic DHA amount in diet (even that little in eggs), production shuts down quickly. "Our work indicates that 2% dietary DHA reduced DHA synthesis by greater than 30-fold (24)." This has confused for silly "conversion rate" guesses formerly. No fixed rate. Regulation is nowhere near limits. Hence, hardly any 'boosting' can be achieved - because far from any need (except virtual 'needs' by false science interpretation and marketing.) 4 Hyper-physiologic DHA has more detrimental side effects - from bleeding to cancer (in big RCTs). Some side effects (anticoagulation, immunosuppression) are short-term beneficial for people with clogged arteries and inflammatory diet. They better use ASS - same 'benefits' PMC9145441, less adverse side effects. For healthy people, both are bad throughout.
When I'm looking for health advice, I look at the person giving it. I'd like to know exactly what Dr. Fuhrman is eating so I can avoid those foods.
THIS is the eating lifestyle I have been looking for for YEARS! So grateful for an actual, finished and detailed program i can follow!! Yee-haa😁❤️😁❤️ THANK YOU DR!
Quite a pleasant experience to come across your UA-cam channel Dr.. I read your book Fasting and Eating for health about 5 years ago and it completely changed my outlook on food and diet in general. Thank you for your contributions to the world of wellness and nutrition.
This is sudo science. Epidemiological studies are not reliable. And 7 day adventist leaders had a deal with grain producing companies to promote this crap to their followers, and they received large donations. High carbohydrate diets a toxic aa they spike insulin which drives obesity and desease.
I love living in a world where depending on your source, every food on earth is bad for you. Meat bad, plants bad, carb bad, water bad, milk bad. Wonderful
It's quite hard to believe, but I've just googled it and appears that this is a real deal...
I've always found it odd that people eat bottom feeders like crabs and lobsters. You just have to look at them to know uou shouldn't eat them.
They would be fine to eat if it wasn't because of human-caused pollution. The fact that they are not a healthy food choice anymore (if that's true) has nothing to do with how they look.
So he is advocting, "you will eat Plastic Pills, Bugs". No thank you.
Love how we as a species have a ridiculously rare planet and fucked it up and are still fucking it up and we still care more about inconsequential bs like celebrities and culture wars. The ignorance, stupidity and mindless division is why the human race doesn’t deserve to survive. We failed the test 🤷♀️
Thank you, Jenna and Dr. Fuhrman. You made me realize I am not getting enough protein as I keep getting pneumonia and I couldn’t understand why. 😮
Fucking stupid idea. Just eat real food!
It's all planned
Actually none of its planned. We burned fossil fuels without care and dumped waste in the ocean for years, without any plan. That’s sort of the issue…
@@notaspeck6104 all to rely on big phama is all planned out
You think too highly of ppl. Our problems are lack of planning.
Can we get enough Zinc from Cashews, and other nuts and seeds?
This advice is so fucking stupid, fear mongering
I made my icecream the same way Doc with Soy Milk ❤you are the best
